Slot drills also known as slot mills, are generally a two fluted and flat-ended double-cutting tool with two radial cutting edges opposed to each other. 

These are available in HSS, cobalt and carbide in various shank configurations.

The flute geometry of the 2, 3 and 4 flute cutters are capable of contouring (semi-finishing and finishing), ramping and slotting operations.

All the cutters are centre cutting and have a robust chamfer design on the end teeth to reduce chipping, particularly important on materials with low machinability.
