3MTM Dry Guide Coat is a revolutionary method for applying a guide coat to a repair area. This system offers considerable advantages over current working practices. In particular, ease of use and achieving a better quality job every time.

  • Contains no solvents.

  • Requires no masking.

  • Gives total coverage of surface.

  • Applicator requires no cleaning.

  • Ideal for both wet and dry sanding systems.

3M Dry Guide Coat – Black provides a method of identifying surface imperfections such as scratches and pinholes in body filler and primer during the sanding process. These can be very difficult to see without the use of a guide coat and would subsequently impair the final finish causing rework. It is designed for use on polyester fillers and light to medium coloured primers. It works by giving a black contrast to the surface which indicates any defect, and will only be removed during the sanding process. Dry guide coat can be used with either wet or dry sanding methods. Dry Guide Coat – Orange can be used on darker or tinted primers where the black doesn’t provide a suitable contrast.
